Introduction to SmartBoard
Target Audience: K-12 Teachers who would like to learn SmartBoard technology to support their classroom teaching
Justification: This will give teachers the opportunity to earn continuing education credit and work toward the Texas Teacher Technology Competencies Certification.
Date: Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $75 per person; includes lunch
This course is designed so that teachers will learn everything from the very basics of using a SMART Board right through to creating intuitive, interactive and engaging lesson plans. We will demonstrate the various features and tools of the SMART Board and gain an understanding of the appropriate use of computers and other technology in instructional design.
Topics include:
- Review basic operating system concepts
- Review Multimedia concepts
- Basic Smart Board use
- Basic concepts such as operating and using the features of Smart Board and integrating it into course content
Workshop Objectives:
Those successfully completing the course will be able to:
- Learn the basic features of Smart Board.
- Develop instructional software for use in the classroom.
- Use the Smart Board for communicating information in the classroom.
- Discuss the use of multimedia for instruction.
- Gain practical experience in teaching using the Smart Board technology.
