Bachelor of Business Administration - General
Business
- Features a broad-based general knowledge of business
operations.
- Offers a variety of business related courses including:
- Law, Communication, Technology, Management,
Marketing, Economics, Finance, Accounting.
- This major is ideally suited for those students who know
exactly what job they are going to take after graduation
and wish to select courses which directly apply to that
specific job. This major also allows a student to gain a
BBA degree without concentrating in one of the functional
areas of business.
- In addition to the core courses that are required for the
Bachelor of Business Administration degree, the major in
general business consists of: (a) six hours selected from
ECO 331, FIN 357, 361, GBU 321, and MGT 373, (b) six hours
representing two of the following areas - law: BLW 366,
437, 456, 468, and 478; communication: BCM 347, 447,
and 450; technology: GBU 310, 440, 461 and CSC 340; and (c)
nine advanced hours within the College of Business.

Bachelor of Business Administration - Business Teacher Certification
- This major meets current state certification requirements to teach business
subjects at the secondary level.
- General Business major incorporating the following courses: Word Processing
GBU310, Information Technology GBU 321, Records Management GBU 440, Organizational
Communication BCM 447, Regulation of Business BLW 437, and Personal Finance FIN
269.
- Instead of the minor/electives requirement, students must complete 27 hours
of professional development courses.
Administrative Law Minor
A minor in administrative law consists of BLW 335, 437 and
PSC 344; plus 6 semester hours selected from BLW 456, 468 and
478; and 3 semester hours selected from the following
courses: PSC 301, 302, 402, 447, 448, CJS 305, or
ACC 432.
At least nine hours of the minor (six of which must be
advanced) must be completed at SFA.
Business Communication Minor
A minor in business communication consists of BCM 247,
347, 447, and 450; plus 6 semester hours selected from the
following courses: COM 170, 380, MKT 352, 353, ENG 273, and
473.
At least nine hours of the minor (six of which must be
advanced) must be completed at SFA.
General Business Minor
A minor in general business consists of ACC 101 or 231;
GBU 147 or FIN 269; BCM 247 or BLW 330; ECO 231; and nine advanced hours
from the College of Business with no more than six advanced
hours from any one of the following areas: Accounting,
Business Communication, Business Law, Computer Science,
Economics, Finance, General Business, Management,
and Marketing.
At least nine hours of the minor (six of which must be
advanced) must be completed at SFA.
General Business Technology Applications
A minor in general business technology applications consists of BCM 347; GBU 310; GBU 321; GBU 440; GBU 461; and six hours from the following CSC 102; CSC 202; CSC 211; CSC 340; and CSC 350.
At least nine hours of the minor (six of which must be advanced) must be completed at SFA.
