BLW 478 - Environmental Regulatory Law - A study of environmental regulation, including that directed at business activities and that intended to define the use and protection of natural resources. Both statutes and case law will be examined to provide an overview of the history and current requirements of selected environmental regulation. BLW 537 - Legal and Social Environment of Business - The legal, social, and political basis for governmental regulation of business activity, the patterns of government regulation of business activity, the patterns of government regulation in such areas as anti-trust, securities marketing, consumer protection and environmental protection. BLW 547 - Legal Environment of International Business - An examination of the social, cultural, political, and legal aspects of doing business abroad. Attention will be paid to the three major legal systems of the world, the political and governmental structures of other nations, and some of the cultural pitfalls the American who does business abroad may encounter.
