Approved December 9, 1998
Revised April 5, 2000
Each MBA student must make a grade of "B" or better in the capstone MGT 517 course to satisfy the university comprehensive exam requirement.
With prior approval of the MBA Director, MGT 517 may be completed by transfer credit of an equivalent course with a grade of "B" or better from an AACSB-accredited school. To fulfill the comprehensive exam requirement, the course to be transferred must include an integrative project, and the project must be reviewed and approved by a committee of at least two SFASU faculty currently certified to teach MGT 517. Should the student receive a "fail" on the integrative project, one re-write of the project will be allowed. The original committee will evaluate the re-write. If the re-write also receives a "fail", the student can elect to repeat MGT 517 under the terms of this policy.
A student who makes a grade of "C" in MGT 517 must repeat the course and make a grade of "B" or higher to satisfy the comprehensive exam requirement. The course may be repeated at a school other than SFASU if the requirements for transfer credit (see above) are met.
SFASU Graduate School policies related to transfer credit and repeated work apply to this policy. See the Graduate Bulletin for details.
