Honor Societies
- Beta Gamma Sigma - All business majors; Dr. Tim Clipson and Ms. Sharron Graves, officers.
The national scholastic honor society for students of business and management. Admission is limited to the top 7% of the Junior class, the top 10% of the Senior class, and the top 20% of the graduate students. Membership invitations are issued in January of each year.
- Beta Alpha Psi - Accounting majors; Dr. Treba Marsh, sponsor.
The honorary and professional accounting fraternity. Open to both graduate and undergraduate students. To be eligible, you must be majoring in accounting and you must have completed nine hours of accounting. Undergraduate membership requirements state that you must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and have either a 3.0 overall GPA or a 3.5 overall GPA in your last 30 hours. Graduate eligibility requirements are higher.
- Epsilon Chi Omicron -International Business Honor Fraternity. Dr. Larry O'Neal, sponsor and advisor.
Open to majors in International Business who: have 84 or more earned hours, and a cumulative GPA at SFA of 3.0 or greater.
- Mu Kappa Tau - Marketing Honor Fraternity, Dr. Larry O'Neal, sponsor and advisor.
Open to majors in Marketing who: have 84 or more earned hours, and a cumulative GPA at SFA of 3.25 or greater.
- Omicron Delta Epsilon - Economics students; Dr. Stephen Kosovich, sponsor.
The international honor society for economics. Membership is open to students who have an interest in economics (not limited to economics majors) with an overall GPA of 3.0 and at least a 3.0 GPA in 12 hours or more in economics. At least 6 hours of the economics coursework must be at the junior/senior level.
- Sigma Iota Epsilon - Management Honor Fraternity, Dr. Larry O'Neal sponsor and advisor.
Open to undergraduate majors in Management who: have 84 or more earned hours, and a cumulative GPA at SFA of 3.0 or greater and graduate majors in Management who: have 18 or more earned graduate hours with a cumulative GPA at SFA of 3.25, including at least one management course at the graduate level.
- Upsilon Pi Epsilon - Computer Science majors and minors; Dr. Mike Pickard, sponsor.
Upsilon Pi Epsilon is the International Honor Society in Computer Science. Membership in Upsilon Pi Epsilon for juniors, seniors, and graduate students is based primarily on scholastic and professional standards.
Undergraduate majors and minors must have completed 66 hours of coursework, 18 hours of computer science, and 6 hours of advanced computer science, with a 3.2 GPA in computer science and a 3.0 overall GPA.
Graduate students must have completed at least one-half of the coursework for the degree, with a 3.5 overall GPA, including at least 12 hours of graduate computer science with a 3.5 GPA.

Honors status requires at least 60 semester hours of coursework in residence at SFASU
- Summa Cum Laude
Students must have a GPA of 3.8 to 4.0.
- Magna Cum Laude
Students must have a GPA of 3.6 to 3.79.
- Cum Laude
Students must have a GPA of 3.4 to 3.59.
