Research Sources
Management 472
Look in the following places to find useful information for this course
and
particularly for your term paper:
- The World Wide Web (see separate page of WWW
Information Sources
). Search tips will be provided in class. However, avoid getting all of your
sources from
the WWW.
- SFASU
Library,
especially via the Subject Guides. Search tips will be provided in class.
- Computer magazines, including Byte, Datamation, PC
Magazine, PC
Week,
etc. Most are currently published on-line only.
- Business publications, including Business Week, Fortune,
US
News,
Time, Wall St. Journal, etc.
- Journals, including Harvard Business Review, Information
Systems
Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, Sloan Management Review, etc.
- Books. You may cite the
course textbook.
- Interviews.
Make sure most (preferably all) of your sources are
current!
Specifications change rapidly, and old references are often irrelevant.
Include non-biased
material whenever
possible. That is, avoid exclusive use of a
company's
material that is obviously designed to promote the product. Use neutral reviews whenever possible.
Visit the Reference and
Citation Formats page for how to list and cite the references
you find. No
other format is acceptable!
Note: a copy of the first page of each reference you use (except the course textbook) must be attached to the final term paper and draft. See the Term Paper Requirements page for details.
Note: our server is Unix-based, so all url's are case
sensitive.
